Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

8th grade is a pivotal grade in which students are emerging in math skills that will allow them to become and feel successful. These invigorating students often tell me that they need more to make their learning engaging and meaningful.

My students are thoughtful, creative, amazing and full of personality.

Students at my school come from a wide variety of academic and social economic backgrounds. The majority of my students struggle to accept that they can learn in a multi-faceted classroom. My students need to have basic supplies such as chart paper, pencils, calculators, and math manipulatives so we can work together on optimal algebra skills needed for high school.

My Project

Depending on how the upcoming 2020-2021 school year starts, my math geniuses will prepared for any scenario. Imagine not coming to school with basics and being asked to complete math equations without the basics such a pencil, eraser or graph paper. Students do not need to feel isolated or insufficient because basic supplies aren't part of a family's budget. I'm requesting these basic supplies because they're necessities to be a highly successful math student. These supplies will be used only in the math classroom to keep from borrowing supplies and keep from spreading germs.

We will be mathematical scholars with these basic supplies!

Students use pencils, graph paper, and dry erase markers for various assignments in whole group, small group instruction as well as independent assignments. My project will allow students to create and solve math equations on a daily basis. Supplying these basics to students will instill trust, respect, responsibility, and freedom. Students will no longer say, "I can't do this without the supplies...." Instead, they will be grateful and eager to learn and have a successful 8th-grade year!
