My Students

My students live in the suburbs of San Francisco and attend school (this year remotely) eagerly and joyfully. Although they experience privilege in a number of arenas, they want to learn how to better interact with the world at large.

My Project

Difficult dialogues, those involving race, equity, and becoming an "Upstander", need a starting point. I see books, texts as this calm center. Stamped: Racism, Antiracism and You, a Remix by YA author Jason Reynolds provides this middle ground on such an important topic.

The donations for this new undertaking will allow my students to read in a place of intellectual and socio-emotional safety while at the same time probing their thinking.

We will learn about the power of individual choice to shape history, to rise up and participate as just, compassionate citizens.
