My Students

Dissections are an imperative part of any anatomy and physiology class. It's a part of the class that every student remembers long after the school year is over. This is for a twelfth grade anatomy and physiology class.

This is my first year teaching anatomy and physiology so you can imagine my disappointment when I couldn't find any good dissection equipment in the entire school.

The scalpels were rusty, the scissors were bent; it was a sad state of affairs. I want my students to remember the amazing experience of dissection, not how they risked getting tetanus during fourth period.

My Project

These dissection kits are heavy-duty enough to stand up to the cat dissection we have planned for the end of the year. 25 kits will provide each student with the tools needed to perform their dissections. Also, with each kit coming in its own case, it will allow me to keep track of the tools and make sure that my students are accountable for their materials.

When I think back upon my anatomy and physiology class in high school my mind goes directly to the dissections.

Many of the students in my class are contemplating careers in medicine while many others are leaning toward the sciences. This culminating activity in my class is going to cap off a year of exploring the amazing human body. There is no substitution for a dissection, and my students will be able to truly appreciate the experience with your donation.
