My Students

The school year has just begun and it’s not the same as previous years. The only thing that has stayed the same is that there will be a group of fantastic 4th graders that will be in the classroom for the first time ready for an exciting year of learning. In our general-ed/ENL/Special Ed classroom, my goal is to create a comfortable classroom environment where students look forward to coming each day to grow both academically and socially. Our classroom is filled with extremely diverse learners. Our neighborhood is very diverse as well. Many of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch.

Our students thrive on choice and finding purpose in what they are doing.

I would love for my students to be more independent and make positive choices within the classroom. All of our students deserve nothing but the best! Help me give them the best!

My Project

This school year I would like to end off the year reading a book that will make students happy and eager to read. I usually end off the year reading this book but I was never able to give the student their own copy to follow along. I believe that students focus better and understand the story more when they have the book in front of them. This will also help students build the skill of finding text evidence to support their thoughts.

We will be using this book as a read-aloud during the concluding months of our school year.

And I will use this in further years to come as well.
