My Project

My students are still recovering learning lost due to Covid 19 issues. Students have a real need to be slow and process the year and also build lost confidence. Many students flourish in the art room with materials such as jewelry making or drawing still life objects. I will teach jewelry making as a form of meditation. We will create memory cubes using resin to keep at our bedside for stress reduction. We will also study the art of still life (using the foam objects as models). The large pieces of foam will be used for clay projects and keeping the classroom clean for all classes. We also will use all those glue sticks on our cross curricular projects. Many of my students have gotten delayed in their English Speaking skills so cross curriculum dioramas built in cardboard with glue guns are a real confidence booster for students who got behind in English Language skills during the year of Covid19 issues. Finally, we will create paintings that focus on neurographic art that will focus on merging the conscious and unconscious mind as a way to promote mindfulness.
