My Students

My students are amazing, diverse learners who overcome numerous obstacles to learn and be successful. They come from families with worldly military experience and families that are native San Diego residents. They are happy, inquisitive, and creative students who are excited to learn about the world around them near and far. They hope to one day be great members of our growing global society. I teach special needs students in a diverse environment to love learning and embrace their differences.

My Project

This year my students will use these books to learn about the hero's journey and the world around them! I have chosen a diverse list of books to add depth and excitement to my classroom.

Books such as Ramayana: Divine Loophole and They Call Me Guero: A Border Kid's Poems allow me to incorporate a wide variety of cultures and religions so that my students see their heritage being celebrated at school.

I think this is especially important during this huge social justice movement our country has taken on and I am proud to be a part of that!
