B.E.A.R.S. Are Creative! (Becoming Effective/Efficient And Responsible Students)

My students need six 7" Tablets plus six protective silicone tablet covers. They need the tablets to enhance skills in creative writing while using the Storybird app so there is no waiting on a turn: six tablets for six students.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in the B.E.A.R.S. group (Becoming Effective/Efficient And Responsible Students) are very excited this year! They will exercise their minds through creative writing activities. These students like to express themselves, and the group sessions provide them with positive ways in which they can do just that. The B.E.A.R.S. are a different type of learners and they know it! They are learning to work through the challenges of how different they learn and embrace their uniqueness. These students are very inquisitive and like to be on the move. The B.E.A.R.S. can be more motivated this school year and most definitely benefit from the tools provided in this project.

My Project

There is an advantage for all six of the students in the B.E.A.R.S. small groups to all be able to use a tablet for their creative writing instead of having to wait for their turn. I have six students in each group at one time, and it is important for them all to be working creatively at the same time. In total there are almost 100 students that will benefit from the 6 tablets; that's approximately sixteen groups of 6 students each.

This group will experience different styles of learning and most importantly will understand their own unique style of learning.

The tablets will enhance their educational experience in many ways throughout the year. The students will learn of the many educational apps and resources to assist them with their learning. These tablets will offer the B.E.A.R.S. an opportunity to keep up with the advancements in technology. The six silicone covers will protect the tablets from accidental falls and bumps and will allow future B.E.A.R.S. to use them for many years to come.
