My Students

I am incredibly fortunate to teach in an elementary school in a rural community in Western New York. In my sixth grade classroom, I have a wide-range of learners, with various challenges they face in and out of school.

In my classroom, we have a sign that says "Be Brave, Be Bright, Be Bold." My students embody this expression every day by taking risks, working their hardest, and reflecting on whether they are putting forth their personal best.

However, not only was I lucky enough to get nearly 80 hard working students this year, these kids are NICE. They are kind to each other, to me, and anyone else they have interactions with in our tiny school. I am proud every day of their hard work, determination, and most importantly, character.

My Project

I teach upper elementary, 5th and 6th grade, and my classes focus on English Language Arts. I have a small classroom library, and truly want to foster an environment that makes students love reading.

These bean bag chairs could make a huge difference in my classroom environment!

Right now, I have a carpet in my classroom, but no other seating besides desks and the chairs that come with them. I would love to provide my students with a cozy place to curl up with a good book.

Next year, my school is going through a huge renovation, and we will have concrete floors for most of the year. I would love having these seats for the rest of this year and going into next year, so I know my kids will have a place to hang out with a good book!
