My Students

The students in my school come from two low income housing complexes located about a fourth of a mile from the school. Because of this, our students have to endure weather conditions and walk to and from school daily. We house Kindergarten through Fifth Grade along with a Multi- Handicap unit. We are the second lowest enrolled elementary school in our system. I work in a Title I school where 100 percent of the students receive free breakfast and lunch.

My Project

My students need these headsets to assist with computer lab activities. The students use the lab to take computerized test in which sound is used. We also progress monitor our students' learning path through computer application's modules. The use of sound for our Kindergarten through Second assist in detecting comprehension and literacy skills. The programs used also provide instructional videos on the standards in which students are expected to master. This gift assists in removing barriers such as inability to read as well as noise reduction. We are preparing our students to compete in this global society! Beam Me Up!
