My Students

My students and I spent this year in distance learning. Even though distance learning has been a struggle for my students in different ways, we have created amazing routines, art projects and science experiments. At the end of February, many of my students and I will be returning to in-school learning. It will be challenging and wonderful at the same time. I am requesting these supplies to get my classroom ready for our upcoming circumstances.

We are living through history.

My students are incredible people. They come with tenacity, creativity, and a wide variety of experiences and gifts. We work hard every day as scholars, artists, critical thinkers, and friends.

My Project

My students and I are about to make a major change in our lives--we will shortly be returning to in-school learning after 10 months of distance learning. I am so excited to see their faces and hear their stories. I also know that I need to be prepared to provide enrichment that students can engage in while socially distant. I think that these activities and supplies will be just what we need.

My 5th grade students are creative and curious and they love to work with their hands.

Coming back to the classroom during a global pandemic, we will need individual supplies for each student. These craft supplies will have a big impact on my students' social emotional wellbeing.

My students will benefit so much from having activities like beading, make-your-own-stickers, birdhouses and totes to paint and clay--activities that we can do as a class, while socially distanced. I believe that joy and social emotional health are at the core of learning and creating a strong classroom community. Please help my students and I come back to the classroom safely and feeling fulfilled.
