My Students

Hope and Wade King's book, "The Wild Card" has so many quotes that inspire me, but one that resonates with me the most is "If you want to create magic you must NEVER settle for "good enough" because that's what your students will become." My students are the reason that I am always learning and searching for new ideas to try in our classroom. As a teacher, I am in awe every day with the way my students think, wonder, and respond to situations that arise in their daily lives. Our school is culturally diverse, and our classroom is filled with differences, yet we have one thing in common. We are a close family that uplifts each other. We value these differences and see the opportunity to learn from all of our backgrounds and experiences.

As their teacher, I am the "wild card" that can create the magic in the room and in their lives.

My students are my passion, and I will not settle for "good enough." Our classroom represents a place for learning, curiosity, engagement, mistakes, and success, joy, and magic.

My Project

I want to "Be the Magic" for my students. I am always learning and trying new things in our classroom. My personal experiences in school were all so positive, and I can remember every one of my teachers growing up. I was fortunate to have teachers and my parents that instilled a love for learning in me from the beginning. Not all kids have that support and encouragement.

Attending the "Get Your Teach On" National Teaching Conference will be a dream come true for me.

This conference has passionate educators that will share their teacher tips, best practices, and secrets for creating engaging classrooms, which will empower and influence my students for years to come. I am excited to learn new strategies for classroom management, literacy and math ideas, and so much more from this amazing opportunity. The learning and information I will experience from this 2-day conference will help me "Be the Magic" in my students' lives.
