My Students

Have you heard the saying, "There's an app for that!" Well, when it comes to the classroom and supporting student growth, there truly is an app for it. iPads in the classroom can help students who need intervention or be the added rigor for those ready for an extended challenge.

I have a class of amazing 5th graders with various academic abilities and learning styles.

As I prepare them for their last year in elementary school on their way to middle school, I strive to guide each student to their fullest potential. My students' engagement increases when I utilize technology in the classroom, and it increases exponentially when THEY get to utilize technology in the classroom. This is also important, so my students acquire the technology skills needed as a 21st Century learner.

My Project

Every student is different with their diverse needs and I want to support their individual growth while preparing them for their future. Since each student comes to me with their own ability level, I must have tools that allow me to differentiate instruction. iPads in the classroom are a valuable tool for providing added support to those students who are not yet meeting grade-level expectations. They can be utilized to increase the rigor for those students ready to dig deeper or push farther with a concept. iPads in the classroom can be used to spark creativity, increase student participation, and promote collaboration among students. These iPads will allow my students to research and present findings, create stories, movie clips, create video book reviews captured in a QR codes, and screen casting lessons with their peers. What better way is there to reach all students than to have technology tools that allow student learning to become differentiated and relevant in the 21st Century!

With these 4 iPads, my students will have the opportunity of using technology across all content areas, incorporating it in ways to enhance their learning.

It will benefit all students by allowing them more opportunities to work together using technology, which are life-skills needed in the real world. This grant would make a huge impact on my current students and many future students who enter my classroom helping them to become 21st Century learners.
