My Project

I am extremely excited to be embarking on what will be my twenty-second year of teaching and my second year of teaching Pre-K. After teaching all other early childhood grades I was excited to take on the challenge of being children's first "in school" teacher. Last year ended with great academic and social-emotional growth for my students and continued social emotional and professional growth for myself and my assistant. I am excited to utilize all that I have learned to foster an even more engaging, equitable, inquiry-based learning environment for my incoming students this school year. I understand the importance of the role I play in forming their views on school and how these first school impressions can be lasting. I ask that you fund my project, which includes age-appropriate social-emotional focused stories, that represent varying student cultures and ethnic backgrounds. My funding request also includes beginning-of-the-year age-appropriate hands-on materials in addition to materials needed to bring what will be our "superheroes in training" classroom vision to life and assist in creating a warm welcoming environment for my students. I appreciate the time taken to read my request and ask that you would consider funding my project.
