My Students

My students are interesting, fun-loving, humorous kids! As 7th graders, they are at a remarkable point in their lives. After this year, they will be practically grown! My kids love learning new things, and they ask questions about everything. I strive to make a difference in their lives, bring a little bit of happiness and excitement into their school day, and to make them each feel like they are the most important part of my day. However, I find them affecting me the most because of their humorous personalities, their dedication to science class, and all that they bring to my classroom.

My Project

I would like to incorporate some flexible seating into my classroom. Many of my students struggle with being able to focus, due to conditions beyond their control. I am looking for a few yoga mats that students can lay on while taking notes, tests, or working on projects. This will keep students from having to lay on the cold, hard, tile floor. I am also looking for a couple inflatable chairs and a few balance balls. This year, we have tables that we can adjust the height of. These chairs will be perfect for our tables, while adding the option of comfort. By offering flexible seating, students will have the option to choose their choice of seating, be able to incorporate a little physical activity, and be a little more comfortable. Flexible seating also opens the door for more communication in the classroom because students will be responsible for setting up the rules and regulations of using flexible seating. Finally, flexible seating also adds a little fun to our science classroom, even on days where we aren't hands-on!
