Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my class come from a variety of backgrounds and ethnicities. Most students come from immigrant parents that are struggling. I teach a collaborative integrated class consisting of a majority of students with special needs ranging from classifications such as autism and emotionally disturbed. Even with these circumstances, they have a desire to achieve and try their best. The area in which my school is located is a rural area with many low-income housing projects. Most parents are receiving public assistance and are from single-family homes.

My Project

I’m a special-education teacher with a large immigrant population. My students look forward to school because it’s the highlight of their day in their lives. Their families are busy working to make ends meet. My projects will help create a love for learning and have them do well in all subject areas.

Many of my students have ADHD and he manipulative Gel Fidget Balls will help them focus.

They have the need to move around while learning and they learn differently than many other students. The brightness and the uniqueness of my fidget pools will entice them to finish their work.

The Time Tracker will help them coordinate themselves enough to finish the work and motivate them to get it done in a timely matter. Overall this will foster good time management skills that will help them in life .
