Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Please give us the opportunity to learn! I teach in a Special Education classroom, in a low income school in Massachusetts, to children between the ages 5-7 (k-1) who have been diagnosed with autism or developmental delays.

Our obstacle? We take learning seriously and because of the many different learning styles that each of my students face it is important that they all get a chance to actively discover new things. They are willing and eager to learn!!

We need a Spanish/English carpet for our classroom because I have children who come from Spanish speaking backgrounds and it only makes their job (learning) harder because they do not understand what I am saying. With this carpet, it will give the students and myself the opportunity to communicate easily when it comes to certain words. It will also give the students who do not speak Spanish, the opportunity to learn the language. In our classroom, we have a great need to learn in a hands on environment. With the beanbag set, it will help the children actively learn their shapes, colors and letters while helping their gross motor skills at the same time.

With your help, you will make a difference in my students lives by giving them the learning tools that they need to succeed. My student's disabilities prevent them from focusing for long periods of time. With this bean bag set and carpet, you give the children a chance to actively participate in the learning process.
