My Students

My first graders are energetic and enthusiastic students. They enjoy learning and active play. They get so excited when it is time to be active and to learn new activities during PE.

My first graders represent many diverse ethnic backgrounds and come from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds.

There is a wide range of academic abilities in our classroom. Students are eager to learn and strive to do their best at all times. They enjoy interactive and hands-on learning.

My Project

My students always strive to do their best, but their number one request is to be able to move more and be more active. Students are always tipping back in their chairs or trying to get them to rock. I showed students the Hokki Stools and they thought they would be a great addition to our classroom. They said that they would be able to move and focus at the same time. My first grade students have three hours of class time in the afternoon with no recess break. These stools are specifically designed so that students can move without distracting others and build core body strength.

Students also requested more PE equipment because we do not have enough balls and jump ropes for our class during PE.

Students want to learn to jump rope and play four square, and with the requested jump ropes and balls my students will be able to learn these fun games. Then they will be able to play these games during recess.
