My Project

My class consists of 24 excited little learners! As their First Grade teacher, I am always trying to think of new ways to capture their attention and make learning worthwhile. Together we enjoy singing, dancing, talking in accents and being silly.. it's what gets us through the day and feel more like family. The items listed will help me create a colorful, cozy, fun, inviting and happy environment for my incoming First Grade students.

These books have been carefully selected as mentor texts and for class read alouds that will help my students find the joy in reading and magic in listening to stories.

The books I have selected tap into our reading and writing units, social emotional learning, mental health and development needs, entertainment/learning through play and so much more!

Other materials and items on this list will support me as a new teacher as I continue to work on and develop our classroom!
