Help me give my students copies of this year's Louisiana Young Reader's Choice books so they can compete in the Battle of the Books competition being held at our local ARTBREAK festival in the Spring.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our library is a place of fun, excitement, and exploration for students Pre-K to fifth grade. We are a Title I school with a high poverty rate located in a large district with very little funding. Our students love to explore and make connections with the real world.
Inquisitive, Ambitious, Energetic, Creative...These are just a few words that describe my students when they visit the library.
My students love the library and I want them to think of it as the center of their learning environment.
My Project
Every year our community holds a large ARTBREAK festival in the Spring showcasing the art programs and artistic achievements of students in Caddo parish and other regional schools. Literacy is always a part of this festival with author/illustrator visits and workshops for students. This year a Battle of the Books will be added to the festivities. I would like for our students to be able to participate in the Battle of the Books competition where local 5th graders from different schools will compete for prizes on how knowledgeable they are on the Louisiana Young Reader's Choice books.
