I teach at a Title I school with the only public Early Childhood Montessori program in Salt Lake City, UT. Our students are 3-6 years old, and 94% are students of color. They spend three years in our classroom, two years of Pre-K, and one year of Kindergarten.
With the right supplies, my students will have the creative freedom to express themselves fully.
In our classroom, we celebrate learning about BIPOC artists, ensuring that students see themselves reflected in the artwork we study. By exploring the diverse perspectives and talents of these artists, I inspire my students to embrace their own creativity.
Who knows? One day, one of them might become a famous artist, contributing their unique voice to the world of art.
