Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As I'm going into my 4th year of teaching I am trying to find more and more ways to give my students the education they deserve. Most of my students come from poverty and little to no resources for things especially school. School does not just include, math, science, reading, and writing. It also includes physical fitness.

Just because my students are not in school does not mean they should not be given some resources to stay healthy and fit.

I want to give my students who are at home an opportunity to stay fit and healthy so they're ready for the next season when they come back to school. We are hoping in the near future we will be able to start after-school programs and therefore start the sports teams up again.

My Project

For a lot of people in the city basketball is the sport you can play at almost every park. Other sports can be difficult to get equipment for but basketball you just need a ball and a hoop that is in the park or your backyard.

Basketball will be back and I want to give my students something to look forward to.

I want to show them pictures of what will be here when they come back. Some students may even be able to take a basketball home and practice while they are home learning, and get ready for the next season!
