This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Please help us stock our art room with basics like paint and markers! This year we are combining two title one schools. These students are among the most vulnerable in the parish where I teach.
Research shows that the arts have a measurable benefit in the lives of students, from academic achievement to creative problem-solving to student engagement and perseverance.
What’s more, the benefits are disproportionately higher for students at the greatest risk of being underserved.
My goals for this school year are student engagement and achievement, parent and community engagement, and school culture/climate—all advanced with a deep immersion in the arts. In order to make this happen I need supplies for my student to create with all year long and the budget just falls short of the greatness we wish to achieve. With help from amazing donors I know we can make this happen.
