Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is made up of over 75% English Language Learners and offers many Special Education Classes such as Special Day Classes, PALS, and Autism Classes. Our school has Extended Transitional Kindergarten, Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and First through Fifth Grade.

Our students are welcoming to our guests, always greeting them with a "Good Morning!" We have students with learning disabilities and challenges at home, however they come to school with the mentality that nothing can stop them from reaching their goals.

My Project

Unfortunately this coming school years budget has been cut yet again, especially our general funds. Our general funds covers such things as basic school supplies such as pencils, crayons, glue, paper, and erasers. Therefore we had to come to the conclusion of having to create supply lists for our parents to be able to have enough supplies for our students.

Many of our students cannot afford simple things such a glue and scissors, causing them to come to school with the homework incomplete because they did not have glue, crayons, or scissors at home.

We have always felt proud of not having to ask our parents to supply us with the everyday materials that we use on a daily basis. We especially don't want to start now. That is why we are asking for the basics; crayons, paper, and glue so that our families don't have to buy such materials. We want them to only worry about helping their child, support their child, and loving their child.
