Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our children are dreamers. They are eager and motivated to learn. They come from families who are hard-working, and they are teaching their children that same motivation for learning. Many of our families fall below the national poverty levels; some experiencing the situation of being homeless or are home insecure. In addition, English is a second language for the majority of our families or they are bilingual households.

Every child deserves a great start.

Our children deserve no less than great. Our children are getting ready for kindergarten, and it is our job to prepare them! Having the right materials and devices is a large part of preparing students for school success!

My Project

Everyday my students practice writing their names on a dry erase board. We are hitting the point in the year where the marker are drying up and it's time for new ones. I am finding that I don't have the funds to replace them and also don't want my classroom to suffer. Our lightbulbs in our room have run out and its time to get new ones as well. We're on our last two bottles of hand soap and my preschoolers germs don't stop part way through the year! We can use the help to stay healthy as winter in Michigan may keep us inside more than we would like and sharing germs more often than we should. Finally we have two new centers that need a table to keep our tablets and headphones safe!

We need the basics to keep our room running!

We promise our learning will be more than basic but we need the materials to keep the learning going!
