Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many students come to school without the basic supplies they need to participate in learning each day. Pencils, erasers, markers, and binders are some basic supplies we use each and every day, and yet so many of our families are not able to purchase these items themselves.

With such a diverse group of learners, we are always looking for ways to engage each and every student.

This often means going beyond the provided curriculum, being creative with the resources we select, and giving students a variety of entry points - regardless of their ability level. Because of this, we are asking for some resource books to support our Social Studies and ELA instruction. These resource books will be extremely helpful in planning Social Studies instruction and supporting small group guided reading with learners who are working towards meeting IEP goals.

Students will use the pencils, erasers, and binders daily in all subject areas. These materials will be given to students who have not been able to purchase their own. A new pencil sharpener will help our students stay sharp, on point, and ready to learn! Markers will be used to annotate texts and take illustrated notes.
