My Students

My 4/5 class is a self-contained classroom, with students of all kinds of disabilities. They are learners who love to learn when they are participating in real-world experiences that help to satisfy their natural curiosity. Despite their learning disabilities, all of my wonderful students come to school every day eager to learn. I would love to provide them with the ability to connect more with technology. Our Title I school believes that our population of students learn in diverse ways. Some students make the science connection by reading books, while others love to get up and do something. When paired with content learned in the classroom, the collection of real data, experienced first-hand, is what will satisfy the thirst of all learners.

My Project

Giving all of my students the basic supplies will ensure that all of the students in my class have the supplies and materials that they need to learn to the best of their abilities. I am requesting basic school supplies to equip my students with everything they need in school and at home. My students love learning, but often do not have what they need to be successful. They come to school and have to borrow a pencil to work during the day or take one home to complete homework. Through the use of whiteboards, students are more willing to share their work during math lessons. This also allows an opportunity for teachers to assess the level of learning during the lessons.

While my students have the technology that they need for learning each day, they do not have some of the basic supplies such as pencils, markers, and highlighters.
