My Students

We teach a classroom of diverse learners who lack basic supplies. We study Literacy and Social Studies and need access to simple things like paper and markers to improve our learning experiences.

Our 7th grade students are energetic and fun!

However, it is a full time job trying to keep them motivated and excited about school. Our students come from many different countries and speak over 10 different languages. Many of our students live below the poverty line. Some are special education students, some are English Language Learners, and most are below grade level in reading and writing.

My Project

Our students will use dry erase markers to write on our mini-white boards that we use to quickly assess student understanding, or to do stop and jots during a whole class read aloud. We will use the paper to print out leveled articles, create differentiated graphic organizers, and packets for students to use during station activities. Our kids will use Ziploc bags to preserve our precious books. We will keep student notebooks clean, safe and organized in the crates we have requested so that the kids' backpacks are a little lighter when they go home each night.

Our students will be more organized, prepared and motivated to continue working hard for the rest of the year with the supplies we have requested.

Little things make a big difference- our books will still look new, our classroom will be neat and tidy, and we will have the ability to print different materials for different students, based on what they truly need. Thank you so much for your support!
