Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 4th grade in my very own hometown, the Norwood section of the Bronx. My students are motivated, dedicated, funny, and kind. Each of them has something unique to bring to the table. They come from various cultural backgrounds, creating a truly unique and diverse classroom. Many of them lack access to educational resources at home, which motivates me to provide various tools for them even more.

My students are part of a larger school community of approximately 700 students.

We learn together in a K-5 school that does the best it can for our low income population. Our school has a large ENL population and high needs for differentiation and authentic learning experiences. We diligently work together to deliver the best for each and every one of our students.

My Project

As a result of our current pandemic, there has been tremendous cuts to our school budget. Moreover, the pandemic has also resulted in furloughs and layoffs for our students' families, making basic supplies difficult to afford.

This project will cover the cost of basic supplies typically asked of our families to provide.

I am initiating this project on behalf of my grade level team. The projected enrollment for our 4th grade classes is 119 students, so your contribution will have a great impact! These supplies will benefit students who are doing both full remote learning and blended/hybrid learning!
