This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach seventh-grade English Language Arts in a middle school in NYC. My students reflect the diversity of NYC, and the majority are from low-income households. They represent the best of NYC. Despite being from different cultures, they all understand that we are more alike than different.
My Project
'Sometimes, the hardest part of the beginning of the year is students not having basic supplies to start to learn. I teach mostly English language learners who need to learn English quickly since they are already in middle school, and to do so, they need basic supplies like notebooks, paper and pencils. Some of these supplies are difficult for them to get and slow down the learning process unnecessarily. Please help! Help me get these basic school supplies so they are able to read and write responses in their own notebooks!
