This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come to me from complicated homes where many of them struggle just to have the means necessary for everyday life. Located in one of the most under-served communities in Houston my students already face many challenges.

This year my students were affected by Hurricane Harvey, and despite the chaos they endured they were happy and eager to come back to school this year.

Our campus was one of the lucky ones in Houston. It only suffered minimal damages from the flood waters, but our students were greatly impacted and do not have the means to get supplies for the year.

My Project

I am requesting school supplies for our Pre-K class to start our school year. We need folders, glue, markers, pencils, paper, and snacks to get rolling in Pre-K.

My class is currently sharing scissors, glue, crayons, and markers at their tables.

Our campus has done a great job of gathering clothes and shoes for our families, but my children really need school supplies. With these basic supplies my students will be able to create art and practice all of the skills they need to move on to kindergarten. Any donation of glue, markers, paper, or pencils will really help us out.
