Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our district has many challenges and it's our students that suffer the most. About 90% of our students receive free lunch. My students are a minority population from poverty. I teach amazing and hardworking students who are eager to learn and return to school. I constantly emphasize being safe, kind, responsible, and respectful each day in our classroom. I may not be able to control their home lives, but I can provide an environment that is meaningful and memorable each day.

School is very challenging for students especially as their bodies are changing.

They are often embarrassed to ask to go to the nurse for pads or other hygienic needs.

My goal is to help take away the stress of puberty by offering my students a "needs" closet in my classroom where they can go in the event of an emergency.

Some of our families are really struggling this time of year and I am trying to do my best to help my students.
