Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of our students cannot afford basic needs. We will often see students that wear a cotton hoodie in the middle of Winter as their coat, or have small, broken backpacks/lunch bags because their parents cannot afford to purchase new ones. Also, some of our students don't wear pajamas for our pajama day activities because their parents cannot afford to purchase new ones. As an educator, this is always heartbreaking to see. We often purchase basic needs for our students with our money because it's hard to see a student go without basic needs. We are asking for a few backpacks, lunchboxes, coats and pajamas that we can keep in our school for these circumstances. We would love to have a small supply of things we could gift kids in need whenever we come across them. It happens more often than we would like to see. We are so grateful to anyone who contributes to this project as it will directly touch the lives of many needy children. Thank you for your help!
