My Project

Some of my students struggle with access to meals, basic hygiene products, and other simple necessities outside of school. The term "Hygiene poverty" has gained traction over the last five years. This condition stems from an inability to access and afford personal essentials by families, and it can have a significant impact on physical health, mental well-being, overall quality of life and academic performance.

My goal is to start the "Bobcat Hub", a care closet, to help meet these basic needs.

This will be a dedicated space in our school library where students can shop for items that they need. I feel that when students have their basic needs met, it allows them to focus on learning without the stress of unmet basic needs. This helps by improving their attendance, concentration, and overall academic performance.

My students are an amazing group of individuals. Despite the economic barriers, they continue to strive to help others and remain positive.
