Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach an incredible group of second graders who are eager to learn and grow every day. However, some of my students come to school facing challenges beyond the classroom, this includes food insecurity. I am seeking support for essential items such as snacks and a mini fridge to safely store food. We also need storage solutions to organize our classroom, and materials to strengthen their understanding of the writing process. The carpet will make sure the students have a comfortable place to sit on during carpet lessons. The label maker will make sure every item is labeled and organized, so the students and myself do not get confused. These resources will help me create a supportive and nurturing environment where students can focus on school instead of worrying about their basic needs.
