This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My middle school students are between childhood and adulthood. Too many of them struggle with leaving the child behind and becoming an adult. Peer pressure and social media compound the issue. At this tumultuous time in their lives, the last thing they need to struggle with is basic math computations.
They want to be successful in life, and they are searching for a route to success.
Will it be through academics? Or sports? Or special interest clubs? They are looking for their niche.
My Project
My students need these basic necessities to be successful in their 7th Grade Math Class. The Expo markers will be used on our individual white-boards to play Math Review Games and complete quick-check assignments in class. Students enjoy using the boards and markers to show their detailed math work for problems.
We are now a 1:1 school, and each student has differentiated assignments to meet their own needs.
Individual earbuds are needed for students to watch instructional videos and listen to individualized instruction. We are working hard to close the achievement gap by utilizing Google Classroom and multiple web-based resources.
