I work in a special education setting, where all of our students struggle with behavioral issues. My colleagues and I have to be creative in coming up with new ways to get our students learning.
Our school year is off to a great start- I have surveyed the other secondary teachers I work with to compile a list of items that they could use in their classrooms to help the learning environment- these items are what we need!
We are requesting a variety of random items- our kids love using fun writing utensils to do their work- to them, pencils are pretty boring! We are also needing some whiteboard supplies- and many of our pencils and pens have seen better days! We're also needing some basics that we've run out of- our pencil sharpener is broken, stapler, and staples! As a teacher- I'll gladly supply my students with whatever they need to be successful- even if it's untraditional!
As teachers, we aren't given any funds for our classrooms, so any donations are greatly appreciated- we work hard to come up with a learning environment that's going to help every student reach his/her full academic potential!
