This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I teach Social Studies at a Title I school where most of my students come from households that struggle with meeting their most basic needs. At my school, more than 50% of students are Black, Latino, and/or Native American, and more than 50% come from low-income households. Through this project, I will be able to keep my students healthy with disinfecting wipes and Kleenex. I will also be able to provide my students with glue sticks colored pencils, highlighters, and feminine hygiene products.
With your support, these supplies can create a safe learning environment for students and ensure that they have basic classroom materials.
Students will have feminine hygiene products. We know that without period products, these students are more likely to miss school and miss out on the amazing things happening in our Social Studies class.
