My Students

My students are very proud, not only of the work they produce, but of not wanting to ask for supplies that they don't have. I decided this year, to leave supplies easily accessible to all students without them having to ask. This will raise their confidence and alleviate any embarrassment. Our school is located in the heart of Coney Island, a place where people come to enjoy the sun, sand, and amusement parks. We are a Title One school and 100% of our student body receives free breakfast and lunch.

Our classroom, their home away from home, is a place where I want my students to feel excited about learning and having what they need to be successful!

Each child should have the necessary tools for the school year without the fear of not having the tools for success. I am so lucky and thankful to have the opportunity to teach and grow with my new 2nd graders.

My Project

The items that I am requesting, folders, pencils, and paper will help my students have access to all the necessary supplies at their fingertips when they need them. The folders will help them stay organized and neat. Paper and pencils will be placed in our centers for the students to use throughout the day as needed.

I am trying to instill the importance of being neat and organized in order to be productive during their day by the incorporation of folders for storing work.

I know that by donating to this project, my students will have everything they need to be productive, neat, and organized.
