This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Most of my students are the first generation attending schools in America (including ESOL). I love working with them to polish their writing skills and as a class we embark on many projects to bring many lessons to life. I just started teaching high school this year and so I started assigning term projects. When my students present, they get to man my computer station and they noted that I had no mouse pad. My students look forward to the term projects and I want to increase the frequency of these types of interactive presentations so I am humbly asking for the mousepad to help them use the the mouse effectively.

I typically have pencils, highlighters, markers, tape, erasers, pens, composition notebooks, and paper (all consumables) at their disposal during class time and they return it afterward.

However, if a child is in need I usually let them keep some of these materials for them to use yearlong as they complete their coursework and homework. I have giant post it notes that I want to post on the walls of my room with the Command Hooks and I place and replace them around my room as needed for group work and anchor charts which is why I added the refills. These help immensely when I teach visual lessons and students copy their mini version into their composition notebook. I also have my students use the Expo Markers on their personal white boards to teach them cursive writing (they love this!).

Many students are unable to purchase these consumables throughout the year and so I try to have a stockpile of supplies, but I have most definitely run out! I appreciate your time and kindness. All donations are appreciated, big or small. Much love from my students and myself. -Munoz
