Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn and interact with their peers. We start the day with the Pledge of Allegiance as well as a class pledge. The class pledge reminds them to be the best students and citizens that they can be.

I teach at a Title I school in New York where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Many of my students come from economically disadvantaged family homes. Despite being at a financial disadvantage they are very eager and excited to learn all they can so they can be successful in life.

My Project

The materials and supplies that I am requesting will be used to publish student work. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The staplers, markers, and other supplies of the sort will be used by the students, so that they may create books. We currently used the Teachers College Workshop method. We go through a lot of paper, staples and markers for editing. Once the writings are done we have a writers celebration in which parents are invited to listen to the students read aloud their authentic writing pieces. Then I have up the students work on bulletin board.
