This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
With our ever growing immigrant population in New York City our classrooms are in need of new and up to date materials. Many of our incoming ENL students struggle to adapt to a new culture and language and have trouble purchasing many of the necessary school supplies. This project will cover the more expensive items and give these students the tools they need to succeed with our new computer based curriculum.
The binders will function as their notebooks and class organizers.
And the headphones will allow them to read along with reading and literacy applications to help them better learn the language without distractions. Having these materials will make their first year in our NYC public schools all the more welcoming and engaging.
