My Students

Many of the students I teach receive special education services. I enjoy working with them so much because they value the help I give them and are always excited to see the results of their hard work.

They are particularly excited when I add music, texts, or videos that appeal to their interests.

Sometimes that’s just what I need to get them geared up for a great lesson! I am always pumped up when I see how far they come from the beginning of the year. Their persistence and drive to do well motivate me to give them my best.

My Project

Many students are not able to come to school with all of the supplies needed to be successful on a daily basis. Having a classroom where they can walk in and grab a pen/pencil, a highlighter, and some paper can help ensure student success. We want to help our students read, write, and annotate text as well as take notes as needed.

In an effort to engage students in independent reading, seats that are comfortable and make them excited about reading (and learning) are really important.

When students can come into a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom, it makes the teaching and learning process a whole lot easier.

Ms. Montgomery Community Voices Middle School Grades 6-8

Celebrate Black teachers and kids! This project supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of students are Black.

Equity Focus
