This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing. They come to school prepared to learn and try their best to achieve high expectations every day. Our school is located in a low-income area with most students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.

Engagement is key for my students and I want them to be engaged in their learning and succeed!

I want my students to learn and be successful and have fun at the same time. I focus on the potential and growth of the children. That growth is measured in student joy and love for learning, their engagement in learning activities, and their desire to focus during these uncertain times!

My Project

As I prepare for my new first grade class next year, I am told there will be no budget for supplies. My incoming students will have ended their kindergarten year during the pandemic, working from home. Many of their families are working to keep food on the table and any school supplies they may have had will be used up with no money to provide them at the beginning of school.

I want my students to be successful, but they must have the necessary supplies to achieve this.

Please consider helping to provide my students with basic classroom supplies. These supplies will ensure that all students have access to the necessary tools they will need daily. The crayons will be used to draw illustrations needed for opportunities to practice beginning writing skills. The highlighters will be used to highlight directions, mark key words, and find important information while they are reading. The glue sticks help with connecting letter sounds to picture cards, creating puppets for reading, and for the many art projects planned for our school year.

Having the correct tools available makes any job easier. With your help, my students and their parents will be able to focus on their learning experiences instead of worrying about finding the materials to do the job. When you support my project, you are helping students and their families through a very difficult time!
