Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students thrive despite living in one of the highest economically disadvantaged neighborhoods in the country-the South Bronx. Ten percent of the students in our district live in homeless shelters and ninety-seven percent qualify for free or reduced price lunch. Being able to participate in one of our many organized athletic teams, motivates our students to show up to school everyday and excel in the classroom. Unfortunately, we have limited resources which is why we have set up this donors choice page!

My Project

This project will allow our student-athletes to compete on an even playing field. They will use this equipment to learn and sharpen their baseball skills. Having this equipment will motivate them to work hard in the classroom because they understand that academics come first!

We had a successful season making the playoffs; however, we fell short of achieving our goal.

With the help of Donor-choose, we will use the mitts, sock nets, batting tees and knee savers donated next season in practice. Our students love baseball and having the opportunity to play means the world to them. I appreciate you taking the time to read this and any donations made. Thank-you!
