Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Baseball season is right around the corner and our student-athletes are ready to get to work. We have had a huge amount of participation in fall sports and there is a lot of excitement as we head into baseball tryouts.

One thing that would help our program moving forward is providing each player with a baseball-specific backpack that could be stored at the school for practices, taken home on the weekends for independent play, and used for away games as well.

Our players have hats, cleats, gloves, bats, protective equipment, and uniforms to keep track of. We also do not have a locker room available and share limited storage space with other sports and the PE teachers. Giving each student a bag would allow us to promote responsibility and more efficiently use our practice time. Finally, I am also requesting one catcher's mitt so that we can have an additional player suit up and work with a pitcher. This will give us a chance to develop our talents at these positions and get more players ready to step into these roles.
