Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have great students; they're funny, inquisitive, and hard working. I teach students with diverse special education needs. Some of my students have learning disabilities, autism, or have been diagnosed with ADHD. They are all unique in their own special way, but they all have something in common, they love to learn. I am so excited to be back in the classroom again and so are my students. I am passionate about my special education students. I believe that they deserve the same opportunities no matter where they come from. They come from diverse backgrounds with different experiences but most importantly, with different academic needs.

During this time, I want to provide as many resources as possible to meet their academic needs.

But in order to do that, I need access to basic materials that are used in the classroom every single day.

My Project

My classroom needs these supplies to keep our classroom running smoothly. The materials are staples in our classroom. Without these materials, a teacher's job is a little bit harder.

While technology is essential, regular paper and pencil is just as crucial to reinforce basic reading, writing and math skills.

Colored paper is used when making sight word rainbow lists, multiplication flashcards are color coded according to the corresponding number. Lamination sheets are used to laminate materials that will be used throughout the year. Highlight sentence strips are used so students don't lose their place while reading or writing. Lastly, page protectors are used to place students' wonderful work on the bulletin boards.
