My Students

We are a newly opened school, and our music program serves close to 150 students every year between our general music, band, choir, and orchestra programs. Our ensembles perform for the community as much as we can by providing concerts every semester that are open to the public at no charge in addition to participating in annual music assessments and festivals.

We believe that a quality musical education is fundamental for all students, and we strive to instill a lasting love of music in our students that will endure.

Our students come from a diverse range of home life situations, and we have a 100% free or reduced-rate lunch with students commuting from both rural and urban communities. Because our school just recently opened in August 2021 and was not given an opening music budget, we do not have a very large inventory of the standard instruments or musical supplies that are generally found in music programs. These conditions sometimes make it hard to provide the students with all of the ideal equipment, but that doesn't stop our kids from always doing their best!

My Project

We believe that music education is a fundamental part of students' learning, but unfortunately, the expense is sometimes a lot for parents to handle. As a new school, we do not currently have an inventory of band instruments to provide students so they must either rent or purchase their own. On top of that, there are extra materials that must be purchased on a regular basis such as reeds for woodwind instruments, valve oil and slide grease for brass instruments, and mallets for percussion. This project will help to alleviate the extra financial burden by providing these to students at no cost.
