This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Each year our students are eager to create Balloon masterpieces modeled after the NYC Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! The parade is a beautiful tradition held each year in New York City and televised all over the world! After learning about the history of the parade and how parade balloons are made and handled on this special day, our students start to get creative! Using Balloons and our STEM skills, our second graders will use balloons, straws, paint, and popsicle sticks to create their own parade balloons! We will then parade through the halls as the rest of our school cheers them on!
