This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In the heart of vibrant Washington Heights, our classroom is committed to fostering a holistic learning environment. We believe that physical fitness is essential for our students’ academic and emotional well-being.

Unfortunately, our current yoga mats are worn, torn, and no longer provide the comfort and support our students need.

To enhance our students' strength, flexibility, and balance, we need new yoga mats and TRX suspension trainers.

How will these items make a difference in their learning?

-Improved Focus and Concentration: Regular yoga and mindfulness practices, facilitated by the new yoga mats, can help calm the mind and increase attention span.

-Enhanced Physical and Mental Health: TRX suspension training and yoga poses can strengthen the body, improve flexibility, and boost overall health and well-being.

-Boosted Self-Esteem: Achieving fitness goals can significantly improve self-confidence and motivation.

Our Goals for This Project:

Create a dynamic and engaging fitness space within our classroom.

Improve our students' physical health and fitness levels.

Enhance our students' mental and emotional well-being.

Foster a sense of community and teamwork through group fitness activities.
