My Students

Ask 100 students what their favorite part of their school day was, and 98 of them will tell you "Center Time." (The other two will say lunch!) We don't have access to the center materials that can maximize our learning time.

My students are an amazing group of first graders!

They are amazingly eager to learn, even though they have much less than most other children their age! These kids amaze me every day with their ability to focus on their education, when many barely have food to eat at home, let alone the supplies they need to learn!

My Project

We are asking for four sets of learning centers for our guided reading time. Since there are 28 students in our classroom, individual reading attention is hard to come by. However by adding these literacy centers to our classroom routine, it gives me, the teacher, time to meet with small groups of students to give the class more one on one learning time!

This project is incredibly important because it will give my students many dynamic opportunities to practice their reading and literacy skills in our classroom on a daily basis!

These kids have dealt with so many life situations that many of us couldn't even imagine, and they deserve to have a change to learn in a fun way!
